WHAT IS TRANSPARENCY?
TRANSPARENCY is an online Christian publication where people share their stories, thoughts and experiences from this shared, sacred and sometimes strange journey we call life. We realize that there’s nothing new under the sun (not our idea, God said it). Therefore, whatever you’re facing, feeling or questioning—whether it’s good, bad or in between—chances are someone’s been there, done that, survived it, or is in a similar predicament. Readers will find articles here that they can relate to from writers just like them. It is our hope that you will be encouraged, inspired, affirmed and challenged to honestly seek God, shed any façades and share life.
WHY TRANSPARENCY?
To be transparent means to be open, frank and candid; without guile or concealment. In the Apostle Paul’s first letter to the Thessalonians, he wrote: “So, being tenderly and affectionately desirous of you, we continued to share with you not only God’s gospel, but also our own lives as well, for you had become so very dear to us” (2:8). Paul and his crew not only preached the gospel, but they were open, frank and candid with the people of Thessalonica…they shared their souls…they were transparent.
Life is about relationships with people and the gospel is about a relationship with God. Both require transparency to be healthy. Likewise, the two are intertwined, as a divine, relational gospel must be communicated in a relational way. Paul, in professing his love of God, was compelled by love of the people to share his life, his heart, his soul.
So Transparency is about the same thing: People compelled by love to share their lives in hope of changing lives. Essentially it’s a community of sharing: Everyday people with everyday stories and searches, seeking, stumbling, walking, growing, living… and sharing.
